BJP -JMM to form government in Jharkhand

JMM supremo Shibu Soren has been given 10 days time to prove his five-party coalition's majority on the floor of the Assembly after he takes oath as Chief Minister of Jharkand on Wednesday.A Raj Bhavan communique said on Monday night that Governor K Sankaranaryanan has asked the 65-year-old two-time chief minister to take a floor test by 8th January.Soren was invited by the Governor on Sunday to form the government.2009-12-26 09:25:43 - BJP MLAs met on Saturday to decide on supporting JMM chief Shibu Soren as the new Chief Minister.JMM Vice-President Hemlal Murmu on Friday claimed that the BJP and AJSU have agreed to support Soren.

Jharkhand Mukti Moracha and Bhartiya Janta Party have almost agreed to form the next government in Jharkhand. JMM's senior leader and Vice-President of the party Hemlal Murmu told media persons in Ranchi that the BJP and All Jharkhand Students Union have agreed to support the new government under the Chief Ministership of JMM Superemo Shibu Soren.

Senior leaders of BJP, Rajnath Singh and Anant Kumar have arrived in Ranchi . Mr. Rajnath Singh said, the BJP will try to form a stable government in the state with the support of JMM and the new government will fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jharkhand.

The tribal state has 81 member assembly, JMM has 18 seats, whereas All Jharkhand Students Union got 05 seats. On the other hand BJP bagged 18 seats and its ally JDU won 02 seats. Thus JMM, BJP, JDU and AJSU combine's total tally crosses the magic figure of 41, which is necessary for government formation.
Two senior BJP leaders Rajnath Singh and Anant Kumar attended the BJP legislature party meeting.

Congress said that it was not in a hurry to initiate talks for government formation in Jharkhand and would do so without any preconditions. While Congress has 14 seats, its ally Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik has 11 MLAs.
