Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad today inaugurated the Jammu and Kashmir Handicraft expo ''Nayab'' at the Rajiv Gandhi Handicraft Bhawan here today on 7-12-2010 at 5 PM: Nayab is organised fro 6th to 18th Dec 2010:Union Minister of Textiles Dayanidhi Maran. presided over the function: Mr Azad said the expo is rightly named ''Nayab'' because the handicrafts of J&K are rarely available, being one of their kind. ''All Indian states have their handicrafts but J&K has no parallel.'' Mr Maran listed the schemes introduced by his Ministry for the uplift of the artisans and to increase the productivity. ''Today even when you have to sell salt, you have to do a lot of marketing, which is why we have opened this expo here. I am sure they will have good sales, because at the end of the day the money generated from here is going to be of great help to them,'' Mr Maran said.
