Social Progress Index, India Rank 102 Below Nepal

At the Porter Prize event we were rushed through Social Progress Index
that measures Social Progress based on Human Development cum GDP of
nations and India was rated 102 among 130 nations. It was Shocking to
discover Bangladesh & Nepal with just $1622 and $1276 PPP GDP rank
ahead of India $3341 at 99 & 101 rank in Social Progress.
Bangladesh with just half, and Nepal almost a third of GDP in PPP of
India, rank above India in SOCIAL INDEX.

Among BRICS countries Russia ranks 80 below Brazil at 46 in Social
Index though has almost 50% higher GDP.
THESE ARE REFLECTIONS OF INCOME DISPTRIBUTION PRACTICES IN COUNTRIES
WHICH ARE UNIQUE FOR ALL OF THEM. India Specific are -
1. People have no Equity in Public Funded Companies and No Share in
Natural Resources.
2. Moneylender & Multilayered Trading Sucks Up 50% of GDP contributing no tax.
3. Farmers Not Given Regular Bank Credit for Storing, Processing and
Marketing of Foods.
4. GOI doesn’t Protect IPR of Indians and Skilled Workers Paid just 1% of GDP.
